Walkie Talkie Kisses

“Butterball, I see the two people in question. Do you read? I see the two people in question. Over.”

“Lollipop, what method of attack do you advise? Over.”

“Butterball, let’s go in quickly so they don’t have a chance to getaway this time. Over.”

“Lollipop, I’m ready when you are. Over.”

“Butterball, let’s go in on the count of three. One, two, THREE!”

“All right you two, freeze! Put your hands where we can see them. Move away from each other – slowly. YOU’RE BUSTED!”

“You thought you could get away with it again! And in our own house! Did you really think we wouldn’t catch you – KISSING? And in the kitchen of all places. Good grief mom and dad!”

Let me explain. My name is Laurie, alias Lollipop and my sister’s name is Esther, alias Butterball. We named ourselves after our kittens Lollipop and Butterball. As children, we would always use our walkie talkies to try and catch our parents kissing. They were always kissing so it wasn’t hard to do.

I grew up in a family with three other siblings. First, there was Esther. Two years later along came me, Laurie. My brother Aaron was born seven years after me. Last but not least, Rachel came along five years after that. Together our initials spell REAL (Rachel, Esther, Aaron, Laurie).

A family with four kids has a lot of great stories. What I’m about to share are REAL stories about growing up. Maybe you can relate.
